ELECTRICITY OC EMPLOYEES WELFARE ASSOCIATION
For FORMATION OF ELECTRICITY OC EMPLOYEES WELFARE ASSOCIATION. Like in other Government departments, Recruitments in the State Power Sector were carried out applying Rule of Reservation. Even qualifying marks were reduces in respect of reserved categories, while the case being so, Reservation in promotions were introduced in the state of Andhra Pradesh in the year 2003. Through G.O. Ms.No.5 Dated 14 February 2003. And later in the year 2009 Reservation in Promotion with Consequential Seniority was also introduced, vide G.O.Ms No. 26 Dated 20.02.2009. In the meanwhile like service associations, Caste based Associations were formed in the Sector like elsewhere, and Associations of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, Backward classes etc. representing reserved categories were formed. It was therefore felt a need to constitute an Association of employees belonging to Unreserved Categories, to address to their grievances, and to protect the interest of the unreserved categories, since on introduction of the scheme of Reservation with consequential seniority, initially no pinch was felt. But with passage of time when implementation of the said rules started resulting Reverse discrimination, and seniors were made to work under their juniors having lesser experience and younger in age, that led to heartburn. And during the year 2008, an Association was formed by five very concerned members under the name and title of “Electricity OC Employees Welfare Association” which was registered under the Societies Registration Act with Registered Number 1088/2008 which was subsequently approved by the Management in the State Power Sector. Consequent to bifurcation of the former state of Andhra Pradesh into Telangana State and the residual Andhra Pradesh, the Association, with mutual consent, was split into two Associations, with one Association for each of the newly formed states. Now the “Electricity OC Employees Welfare Association AP” is affiliated to the All India Equality Forum Registered No. S/32056/97. And ever since its inception the Association is serving the Members of the Association, maintaining very cordial relations with the Managements from time to time, leading to very healthy Industrial relations and rapid growth of the sector. UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL Our Slogan is Save Merit Save Energy Save Nation.
We are grateful to Sri Syed Nasir Ul Haq, Vice President / South Zone, All India Equality Forum, for his help in drafting this Constitution.
